We live a fast-paced life. We go to work. We hold meetings. We pick up our kids. We do our side-hustle. We make phone calls. We make dinner. We text. We play. We put our kids to bed. We catch up on The Voice. We make more phone calls. We make plans for the weekend. We write a list of things to do the next day. We put ourselves to bed. We wake up. We do it all again.

Where is the relief?

When does the madness end?

How do keep up living like this without wanting to completely break down?

The truth is: we all secretly want 10 minutes peace, but we aren’t willing to give it to ourselves.

And the reality is, if we don’t begin to give ourselves the breaks we need, all of that stress, all of that fatigue, all of that anxiety… it’s all going to come crashing down on us.

Now, do you want to hear the good news?

The good news is, we have a simple solution that will ease your mind without consuming your busy schedule. Today, we want to talk with you about meditation, and how only a few minutes everyday can bring the healthy change your body craves.

Reduce Stress

When our bodies enter into stressful situations, they tend to recoil into a “fight or flight” mode. This means that our bodies are doing everything they can to simply survive. As a result, our blood pressure may rise, we may experience a higher than normal blood flow and our heart beat and breathing may increase as well. And while this is a natural response, when it continues for long periods of time, it has unhealthy side effects for our bodies long-term.

Recently, studies have shown that ten minutes of meditation a day can reduce the side effects of stress. Calming our mind, it has been shown, can have positive effects on our physical body.

Practicing meditation is a powerful change that we can make in our daily habits to bring a greater good to our bodies.

When your mind enters into a meditative state of relaxation, your metabolism decreases, your heart rate and breath slow and your blood pressure normalizes, as well. Basically, by calming your mind, your body begins to undo all that stress has done to it.

Getting Started with Meditation

Perhaps the biggest benefits of meditation is that it’s free and you can do it anywhere you are comfortable. Plus, beginning meditation practices aren’t intended to be overwhelming or consuming.

There are a lot of different ways you can begin meditating. You can begin meditation by picking up a mediation book. You can also seek the guidance of a meditation specialist locally.

Tuesday April 21st at 6:45pm, we will be offering a Meditation Workshop with Special Guest Ben McClintic. It is a calming class, intended to bring peace and clarity to your mind through the use of visualizations.

Bring a yoga mat and wear comfy clothes. Friends and family welcome!

The cost is only $10 per person.

We’d love to share this experience with you and give you the tools you need to have less stress and healthier body!
