during our very special  Meditation  month

In my work as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist, I facilitate the healing process with my clients utilizing talk therapy and at times, hypnotherapy. In addition, I also recommend modalities such as Mediation to aid in reducing a number of symptoms and difficulties.

Meditation can have a positive, sustained effect on chronic pain and mood, including depression and anxiety. How does this work?

According to Dr. Oz, at the hormonal level, studies show that meditation can counteract the fight-or-flight response that floods the body with the stress hormone cortisol and that also shuts down the parasympathetic system, which normally restores order after the alert is over. At a molecular level, meditation slows metabolism in red blood cells and suppresses the production of cytokines-proteins associated with the kind of heightened immune response often seen in stressed-out subjects.

I recommend using meditation every day to begin your day as I do, not just when you are experiencing a problem. The daily practice of meditation works as a preventative for many problems as it clears your mind and can even lower your blood pressure in some cases. What a wonderful way to begin your busy day. Taking time for yourself in this way.
